About
Hey, I'm Will.
I grew up taking music lessons and was bored — right up until I started making my own music. Then it clicked, and I've been on a journey discovering more and more since. I think it's the only way to really learn music and get lifelong value out of it.
I studied songwriting at USC. Now I make music for my solo project wilter — which recently has crossed over a million streams — and I produce for other artists, tour in bands, and score films. So what we dig into isn't theory to me; it's what I do every week.
I teach the way I wish I'd been taught: start with music you already love, learn how it's built, then use that to make your own. Works whether you're seven or forty-seven, brand new or already playing well.

How it works
Three steps, from favorite song to your own.

Cover it, then rebuild it
Once you start to get a handle playing your favorite tracks we focus on production and recording techniques behind the tracks you love. We'll learn to use recording software on your computer (or even just an ipad or phone is good enough!). Along the way we'll get your simple home recording setup sorted.

Write your own
Once the tools feel familiar, we move into original work: songwriting exercises, writing lyrics, and building a whole structured song start to finish. The goal is to light the fire to keep creating.

per 60-minute session
- One-on-one lessons for kids or adults, any skill level.
- I come to you anywhere on the eastside of LA. Further away, I may add a little for travel.
- Want to get a day in a pro setting? My Atwater Village studio — synths, mics, guitars — can be booked for sessions. Just ask.
